| Shanta gave an
excellent performance combining the classical forms –
Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi Kathakali and Kalaripattu for the
opening of the Film Fare Awards 2002
Indian Express, April 2002
Shanta Rati Misra belongs to that generation of people who
have that special something which sets them apart from the
crowd. Shanta continues to explore Indian classical dance
forms and invest it with a contemporary sensibility. -Screen

Shanta’s penchant for abhinaya has its finest
moments in the Annamacharya composition “ Palukutenalatalli”
in Aberi ragam. The sensuous underpinnings of the composition
were communicated with restrained intensity in the mimetic
interpretation.
Kuchipudi dancers may occasionally lack grace and finesse.
Not so Shanta Rati Misra…
The Hindu, Oct 2001 Leela Venkataraman
It is tempting to say that she is as convincing an actress
as she is beautiful as a dancer but that would be to miss
the point…. Shanta is simply very good at what she does.
Her charisma is low-key and contained; still, it makes a great
impact. James Wierzbicki, St louis Post Dispatch,
1993 USA
“Astronomers are not the only people who discover new
stars….. the latest is Shanta Misra, who gave her full-length
Kuchipudi recital. Financial Express 1988 V V prasad
“She is destined to shine as a lovely Venus among the
stars”
Mulk Raj Anand
“If dance is poetry in motion, then Kuchipudi dancer,
Shanta Rati Misra is certainly reciting some of the best poems
on stage.” - Sunday Star, K.L. 1991, Malaysia.
